If you are taking it now and are pregnant, you need to be changed to something different (probably tapered off). Ambien is a pregnancy category C, meaning it hasn't been tested on pregnant women extensively but HAS shown to cause abnormalities in animal studies.

If you were only taking it around the time of conception, there is still a risk. But depending on time remained on Ambien, I would say the chances of any adverse effects to the fetus are slim to none.

I suggest you talk to your doctor.
