Anthony Quinn was a Mexican-born actor whose long film career was highlighted by the two Academy Awards he received for Best Supporting Actor. His first Oscar was for his 1952 performance in "Viva Zapata!" as the brother of the famous Mexican revolutionary figure Emilio Zapata (played by Marlon Brando). His second Oscar was for his portrayal of French painter Paul Gaugin opposite Kirk Douglas' Vincent van Gogh in "Lust for Life" (1956). Quinn died on June 3, 2001 at the age of 86.
