If you kill yourself will you go to hell?

no not really its just a very bad thing to do but my self i wouldnt do it @ all!!!1 if your a christian or jew in the ten commandments it says not to kill that includes yourself and if you pray and ask for G-d's help he will help you through the tough times in your life.

It's up to you on what you think and what your religion states. Different people think different things, yet I believe that it depends on what reason you would kill yourself for. If it was for a noble cause then you would go to heaven (or Elysium in my case) but if it were not then you would either go to hell or Asphodel. It also depends on what you've done in your past.

If you die in a state of unforgiven mortal (serious) sin, you go directly to hell following the particular judgment (the judgment everyone receives immediately upon death). Anyone who is in a state of grace goes to heaven, with or without the purgatory detour depending on if there are stains of sin on their soul. If a person killed themselves, and in their last breath managed, by the grace of God, to make a sincere act of contrition, then they would be saved. The possibility of doing such a thing is almost nil, but we have one recorded instance of a man whom people had been praying for, it appeared that he committed suicide, but a saint was assured that he was in purgatory. Everyone else, that we know of, is in hell for eternity. There is no possible reason for suicide, no matter how bad it is here, suicide just puts you in a worse place with no possibility of ever getting out it, an eternity of the most miserable and abject suffering.
