If staying in front of the fan helps you to be more comfortable, it can be helpful when you have flu. If it causes you to shiver, you should stop.

No the out side fan is for venting heat away fromt he unit.
the fan should be blowing air out of the unit,as far as the direction different brands use differentdirecton fans to accomplish this
There are a number of reasons why your body aches after the fan was blowing on you. It could have tightened your muscles.
