I don't think it matters whether he forgot or not, what maters is that you were the last thing on his mind so make sure HE is the last thing on your mind from now on and FORGET HIM and move on.
Tip: Don't ask a man out on a date, he should pursue you and ask you out,because if he doesn't pursue he loses the thrill of the chase and forgets you (as you have found out at your cost)
