Overall; very little. If they make £800 in a week, they more than likely owe £1000 to a few people.
Seeing dealers with wads of cash used to make me think they must be rolling in it. But getting to know them made me realise how little money they get to keep for themselves. Hence them having other legal jobs most of the time.
However, in certain places dealers can make a lot of money through buying in bulk and selling in little bits. For example, a half pound that sells for $1000 is roughly 227 grams, and at $10 a gram there's a $2270 profit.
Also, many people buy in larger quantities, thus changing the final profit. Let's say one person buys an ounce out of the half pound, and the rest of the people buy half quarters. That's $160 for the ounce, and $30 for each half quarter. That means the final product would be $1840, a $430 decrease.
Another thing to keep in mind is that in certain areas, dealers make less than nothing, and in other places they make enough to sustain themselves without any other work. The key is quality: It doesn't matter if you're selling high-grades or not, if you're in an area where good weed is common, you'll make more than in an area with a terrible product.
Plus, each drug, even drugs in the same family or from the same source have different economies. Crack and Cocaine have different economies, all Opiates have different economies etc. For example, The average Crack dealer makes a larger profit through buying Cocaine, freebasing it themselves and selling it than a Mushroom or Marijuana dealer makes by growing their own plants and selling them. (Of course, it depends on what scale both are at.)
