At age 8 there is a lot of physical, motor and neural development going on. Any time spent on a treadmill is much better spent out in the physical world. This will engage a broader range of muscles, require more balance, and allow you to better engage with the sweet planet we inhabit.

It is perfectly fine for a 13 year old to use a treadmill. They should exercise as long as they normally would with other sports, about 20 to 30 minutes.

You shouldn't have to. Just stay active with friends and sports or hobbies and you'll be fine!
