It takes about 2-3 hours depending on your size and how your original tubal was done. Filshie clips and rings are easiest to reverse. It also depends on your size. If you have a normal BMI then it will be quicker and your incision will be smaller. On average the incision is about 3 1/2 inches, a bikini cut, and if you have already had a c section then they will use your old scar. If you have it done microsurgically, then you will have a faster recovery. It takes about 10 days to feel like your old self again. You will be able to walk around the next day and some women say they are out and about just hours after the surgery, although I didn 't find that to be my experience. All in all, it was much easier than I expected and cured a whole host of problems that I had been experiencing.

Tubal ligation procedures and the doctors who perform them?æin each woman are different, so there is no standard length the tubes need to be for a successful reversal. However, the longer the tubes are, the better the chances. There is no way of knowing how long your tubes are without surgery.

Is it possible to get a reversal tubal ligation after having three cesareans?

It is something to discuss with your doctor - the cesareans have less to do with a successful reversal, than scar tissue on the fallopian tubes. Your doctor can use a laparoscopic tool and dye scan to determine the amount of scarring.

Can you reverse tubes that are cut tide and burnt?

Probably. It depends upon how much of your tubes were burned and how much damage was done. I had my tubes cut and burned...and ultimately had a reversal. I ended up with 4 & 5 centimeters left after the Tubal Reversal, and am currently pregnant and due in 5 weeks!

Is there a pill or medication besides surgery to reverse a tubal ligation?

No. A tubal ligation is a pretty permanent procedure that significantly reduces the possibility of pregnancy. Attempts to reverse the procedure are not always successful. Reversal involves a surgical procedure to re-establish the fallopian tubes.

Could tubes have grown back together on their own after a tubal ligation?

No, you can't help your tubes grow back together after a tubal ligation. You need to have tubal reversal surgery. This can cost anywhere from $4500 to over ten thousand dollars. I had reversal surgery and it was a breeze. Not only are my tubes open now, I feel so much better than I did when I had the ligation. There are some freak incidences where tubes have grown back together, but it isn't common.
