After someone has died, it is important to keep their medications for a period of time in case they are needed for investigation purposes. The exact length of time may vary depending on local laws and regulations, but typically medications should be kept for at least a few weeks to a few months. It is important to consult with healthcare professionals or legal authorities for specific guidance in each situation.

After someone has died, you don't need to keep their prescribed medicines. It is normally advised by the National Health Service (NHS), that you dispose of any medicines of people who have pased away. Either that, or you should hand in any medicines at you local pharmacist or GP clinic. So that they can dispose of this unwanted medication in a safe and convenient way, or re-use it to suit their needs.

If a person has died the medicines s/he was taking should be deposited at places where such medicines are accepted to be used for the needy or left with a hospital. In mumbai state bank of India has boxes to collect such medicines.

You don't keep it. Discard it or donate it to a nursing home or charity.
