The general rule for working out after hernia surgery is 8 weeks but you may want to consult your doctor to see what they advise for your particular case.

Today is 10/27/09 and i had my surgery almost 3 wks ago. I still have pain and not back to work yet. I am taking pain meds in the morning and at night now. The first week was awful. I never felt pain like that. Second week was still really rough and third i am much better but still some pain getting up. Its a rough surgery for sure. Make sure to have help. I didnt have any so its been rough.

Now a days hernia surgeries are out patient procedures. Your should be able to drive as soon as the anesthesia and other pain killers wear off. You should be driven home after the procedure and can start driving the next day.

8 hours before your surgery do not eat anything nothing or else vomiting will start and the Surgeon wont be very happy.

You can start dancing from the age 4 or 5 up to whenever.
