As a medical assistant with an associates degree, I've worked in many doctor offices that we were trusted to have been taught and refreshed by the doctor we worked for to read the TB test. I don't understand being certified! Most offices could care less if you are a "Certified" Medical Assistant or not. Very expensive to be certified, doctors offices don't want to pay for it either.

A Mantoux test is done by injecting a very small amount of TB protein ( antigens) under the top layer of skin.
