The human population has changed dramatically. There were not very many people on the Earth then (estimated 1 million). Those that were around did not live a long life, and often died of diseases, unlike today we have advanced medicines. For about 99% of our history, all humans were hunter gatherers - people who obtain their food by hunting, fishing, and gathering wild plant foods. While some of these survival skills exist today, most of it is done for leisure, as a sport for fun. We travel to the supermarket for food. Another change in human population is the obvious numbers in size. The population has grown, unlike then the populations usually remained small - people usually lived in groups of 25 to 50 people spread across a large area.
