it feels as if you are just in the state before you go into the first stages of anaesthesia but it is a lovely feeling. It must be if used smoked because you are at risk of the obvious, and can't be annoyed to list the danger's of I.V use I am an educated man of middle age and have been addicted for many years. Thankfully I have become totally drug free and I am proud to say that. I still crave heroin but will not do it because I have moved on I have two wonderful children and a beautiful wife. So if there is one thing to say don't do it at all. Scott P Jackson. NSDC
*The consumption of heroin is marked by a euphoric rush, a warm feeling of relaxation, a sense of security and protection, and a dissipation of pain, fear, hunger, tension and anxiety. When heroin is snorted or smoked, the rush is intense and orgasmic. Subjectively, time may slow down. Any sense of anger, frustration or aggression disappears. Users enjoy the feeling of "being wrapped in God's warmest blanket".
Heroin is the most fast-acting of all the opiates. When injected, it reaches the brain in 15-30 seconds; smoked heroin reaches the brain in around 7 seconds. The peak experience via this route lasts at most a few minutes. The surge of pleasure seems to start in the abdomen; a delicious warmth then spreads throughout the body, or at least the somatosensory cortex. After the intense euphoria, a period of tranquillity ("on the nod") follows, lasting up to an hour. Experienced users will inject between 2-4 times per day. After taking heroin, some people feel cocooned and emotionally self-contained. Others feel stimulated and sociable. Either way, there is a profound sense of control and well-being. The euphoria gradually subsides into a dreamy and relaxed state of contentment. Higher doses of heroin normally make a person feel sleepy. At higher doses still, the user will nod off into a semi-conscious state. The effects usually wear off in 3-5 hours, depending on the dose.

Short-Term Physical Side Effects Of Heroin Heroin’s effects are felt almost immediately and last up to a few hours. The euphoric or pleasurable feelings it creates in the body are referred to as a high or rush. During use, a person may experience the following short-term effects of heroin on the body: dry mouth itchiness legs and arms feel heavy pain relief nausea and vomiting warm, flushed skin After the initial high, a person may feel drowsy for several hours. Critical life-support functions can also slow at this time due to its central nervous system depressant effects. This may cause a person’s heart and breathing to slow. In certain cases, slowed breathing may become so severe, that a coma, lasting brain damage, or death results. Long-Term Effects Of Heroin On The Body The more a person uses heroin, the greater the toll on their body. When a person uses it chronically and/or over a long period of time they may develop: constipation insomnia a perforated septum from snorting stomach cramps

A heroin addict is in love with one thing ... their next fix of heroin. Unless the person on heroin wants to try and come off this highly addictive drug then it is wise to stay away from someone with this addiction. Being a heroin addict does not mean the person is a bad person, but, they will use all their money; sometimes steal or even get into prostitution to pay for their next heroin fix.
Smoking heroin is commonly referred to as "chasing the dragon."
