sit down. put your hand on your knee. extend your leg as far to the side as possible, then twist inward, towards your body. (works for shoulders too)

Very simply: Don't do it. If someone needs their hip 'popped' back into place they should go to a doctor, ER, or a chiropractor.

If the hip is truly out of place, a person should not pop it back into place on their own. The help of a physician is needed for this type of injury to properly be done.
