Honestly, I know this is not going to be helpful... but no one can tell you how to know. He may have never stopped loving me. No one cheats because they just stopped loving you. He could have been bored and needed some excitement in his life. He could have been going through a mid-life crisis. Many things can cause infidelity and you can't change what happened no matter how much it hurts the both of you. Some will say the wife is to busy with everything and his needs are not being met anymore, some will say I love my wife dearly but having a friend with benefit can sparks his life.
