Its better to watch and then ask him directly without making hime feel like a worm... a frank question that does not play with his dignity and his self esteem will get a true and frank reply.. TYell him that you are not upset with him, and incase you are not interested in carrying on the relationship, be clear it is not because you like him less, but would prefer not to have complications later.
