Pollen is the yellow powder in flowers. It might make you sneeze if it gets into your nose, but it doesn't grow.

Polyps, on the other hand, are lumps that can grow deep inside your nose. They can be seen on a CT scan, but you must get the scan done on a day when your Allergies are worst, and your nose feels most blocked. Nasal polyps can swell on allergy days and shrink on good days, so if you get the scan done on a good day, it will look like there's nothing there.
