Ketamine has two forms powder or liquid. In powder form it looks like phamaceutical grade cocaine. Which is really finely granulated powder. In Liquid form it is usually clear or slightly opaque (cloudy).

If they have needle marks anywhere. Not everyone experiences noticeable side effects. But ketamine is a very dangerous drug, so it would be a good idea to ensure that someone is using it without being instructed to by a doctor.

Often just by their general behavior, how they look and act - also a

drug-screening urinalysis will show this. Sometimes if the person is acting

badly or not normally, has mood swings, withdraws or isolates themselves, has a

new group of friends, has poor personal hygiene and lack of concern for their

appearance or even smell bad, they could be under the influence of drugs; but

these signs can also indicate clinical depression. Look at their eyes to see if

red or bloodshot, or if the pupils are very small or very large, then they may

use drugs. There are many types of drugs and they affect people in different

ways. Some drugs will also affect kids differently than adults. People on drugs

such as marijuana and pain pills may act goofy and silly, they'll avoid looking

at you eye to eye. If using marijuana, you may hear them talking about weed,

pot, grass, Mary Jane, chronic, blunts, roaches, joints, doobies, bongs, pipes,

or vaporizers (vapes), etc. You may also notice a weird, pungent, acrid

plant-like smell on them and often they will be hungry and eat large amounts.

If their pupils are very small sized (pinpoint) it can indicate use of narcotics

or other "downers" and they may act very loving, slow, and sleepy. Very large

pupils can indicate use of cocaine, amphetamines, or other "uppers" and they may

act tense, nervous, and fidgety; they will eat very little, if at all. People

on drugs normally hang out with other people who do the same drug-related

activities and may isolate him/her self to be with only these people. First ask

them about it, tell them you are concerned but that you are not going to turn

them in to the police or hate them. You love them and you just want to be sure

they are not harming themselves. Spend more time with them having fun and

talking about other things. If they do not eventually confess and let you give

them help, then ask them what would happen if you all looked together for hidden

bags of what looks like dried herbs or weeds, pipes, small plastic bags or

aluminum foil containing powders or crystals? They may turn them over to you at

that point rather than take you to look through all their private things. Keep

an eye open for drug paraphernalia, like pipes and bongs, rolling papers and

lighters, in their possession and ask them about it if you find any. Apply the

appropriate punishment for their behavior (which should vary situation by

situation), remember that at this point, the goal is their health and well being

... not to prove them guilty, prove yourself right, and don't give harsh

punishment on a first offense. Get family counseling from someone familiar with

chemical dependency if you are not sure what your reaction should be to achieve

the goal you are looking for in your particular situation. They will have seen

many families deal with these same issues and should have good advice to follow.
