10 Tips To Grow Long Healthy Hair

1. Cut It,Yes some people refuse to let their hair be cut but they are just making it worse. If you dont cut your hair it wont be very healthy, therefor it will grow slower! So get to a hair stylist and get it trimmed. You donts have to take off an inch, just get it trimmed! It is recommended to go and get a trim every 6-10 weeks.

2. Don't Create Friction. When you do, it will pull out your hairs or stretch them!! Use a silk or satin pillow case. If you don't want to get a new pillow case then put your hair in a bun or a ponytail (not too tight but don't make it too loose either!).

3. Be Careful with a Ponytail. Don't do it crying tight because it looks pretty, because it will pull, stress, and stretch your hard earned hair! But don't do it too loose! Then what is the use of it? If it is too loose it may pull out your hair because of the weight. Make sure your ponytail is just right, and you can feel what that is. Also don't use hair ties with metal on them, choose ones with all fabric. Scrunchies are great! Never ever ever use rubber bands! Rubber bands break, pull out, stress, stretch, and damage hair!

4. Use the right shampoo and conditioner. Don't worry the right hair products aren't only in the stylist stores! They can be in your own drugstores! Choose Pantene, and choose the kind that promotes long hair! Also I and hair stylist recommend Main n' Tail (horse/human) shampoo. It will thicken and protect your hair.

Main n' Tail makes most peoples hair coarse, but lucky for me I wanted coarse hair)

5. Eat a balanced diet. Don't eat a grape and a load of starburst! Here are 3 recommended meals:

*Eggs, toast, and Orange Juice

*Hamburger (not fast food!), Milk, and an Apple

*Grilled Cheese, Salad, and Florida Grapefruit Juice (the best grapefruit juice)

6. Don't stress. It is damaging to hair! Worse thing you can do for your hair (except for not cut it!) Two simple words, follow them.

7. Zzzzzzz... get your sleep it is so important! Hair grows in that time! No joke

8.Permission to be Lazy...Don't wash your hair over the weekend! Its natural oils do wonders! On the week wash it every other day. Also you can eat chocolate, dark is the best for you though. It does great things (but only if you don't the the 100% sugar kind

9. Vitamins. take them if you want but i choose regularly daily ones, just for health not for hair

10. Exercise! Exercise about 2 hours for 3 days a week. Also Everyday message your scalp. If you can turn your head upsidown for 20 seconds once a day. Both will increase circulation.

It's easy actually. Many people ask me and I always tell them the same things. Here are some ways to grow black hair.

1.) GET A TRIM Yes I know what your thinking..." wait a minute isn't cutting your hair making it shorter" but you do need a trim. not a lot just a half of an inch that's all!
this prevents split ends from reaching the scalp damaging all your hair. look on the bright side...at least you don't have to cut IT ALL off.

2.) YOUR HAIR NEEDS NUTRIENTS if you have a poor diet your hair will suffer. That's because all the nutrients you get from that poor diet go straight to the internal organs to keep them healthy and not your hair. That's really unfair! So eat right take multivitamins (vitamins B, C, and E are good) everyday to make sure you start you day right! Your hair will thank you!

3.)GET YOUR BLOOD CIRCULATING exercise is a good way to get blood circulating. But a good way to get blood circulating in your scalp is to massage your scalp or put your head down and sit your legs up (get upside down) and stay there for 30 seconds a day. Its so easy to do!

4.) KEEP HAIR MOISTURIZED. At all times your hair needs moisture no exceptions. You need to wash your hair once a week and always back it up with a conditioner. deep condition every 3 weeks for a big boost in moisture. Also every day you need a leave in conditioner to protect your hair.

5.) STAY AWAY FROM HEAT heat damages hair and causes breakage. if you ever want long hair you gotta stay away from it. Chemicals to! But if you do have you hair relaxed (like me) you need to care for it especially! but if you really need to use a heat tool always use a heat protectant spray to protect your hair from heat and damage. but i highly recommend you don't use heat.

these are tips to help your grow if you want the best growth follow these instructions. you will be glad you did when your walking down the street with long healthy locks.

(also a good hair product to use is doo gro it really works!)

1.) If you have any type of chemical relaxer, texturizer, bleaching etc. on you hair, be prepared to cut it off or grow it out. Chemically altering the hair causes breakage and will slow down the growth process.

2.) Wash your hair no more than 4 times a month with a sulfate free, gentle shampoo. If you feel your hair needs to be washed more often, do not use shampoo, wash with conditioner only. Shampoo is a detergent and can dry out Afro Caribbean hair.

3.) Condition your hair with a silicone free (or if it has silicone, make sure they are the water soluble) conditioner.

4.) Use a silicone free leave-in conditioner and do not rough comb your hair. Gently detangle using a wide tooth comb while hair is soaking wet with water and conditioner (or simply finger detangle).

5.) Seal hair with a pure butter or oil (ie. shea butter, castor oil, coconut oil, jojoba, olive, etc.). Do not use ultra sheen or any other commerically available grease that contains mineral oil.

6.) If you want your hair to have definition, use a pure gel like Aloe Vera or make your own flax seed gel (boil 1/4 cup of whole flax seeds in 2 cups of water and strain off the residual gel). If you prefer to buy gels look for ALL natural lines like Kinky-Curly, Jessi'sCurls, AfroVeda, CurlJunkie, etc.

Like any other male... or human... you just let it grow. Naturalay without any chemicals is the best way but some oils and conditioners help hair grow faster (supposely). Take care of it by keeping it as distangled as possible. There will be a point between transitioning in which the hair will be difficult to manage as it will become matted when you lay down and simply be fustrating but after that it becomes easier once you can pull off the air fro. Remember hair grows about half an inch in a month so patience is a key.

I did laugh at the previous answer "Weaves or hair growing cream". On a serious note, most black people don't use anything to make their hair grow. They just comb it out, so the scalp can get air, and it grows. Sometimes ideas circulate around that black people wear weaves, and use products in their hair, but it simply isn't true. Most people don't bother with all that, some can't afford it and yet their hair grows fantastically.

Why do black people's hair not grow?

Black people's hair does grow; some faster than others. It depends on the individual. To some it may seem as though black people's hair does not grow, but it does at an average of 1 inch a month (the same for all races). unfortunately some blacks tend to chemically alter their hair which causes breakage. so their hair does grow, but its hard to keep the length due to breakage, making it seem as if it does not grow.
