Depends on what sort of "pest" we're dealing with here. Pests don't have to be bugs, they can be deer, predators like wolves, cougars or coyotes, unwanted weeds, or someone in your family. You'll have to find a way to deal with each accordingly: for instance, bugs can be dealt with with insecticides, weeds with herbicide, predators with a gun, or your family by standing up for yourself or whatever else you can do without resorting to violence.
