If we consider mainly young people and even children also and we think in terms of 50 or 60 years ago: Entertainment before was music - singing around the piano or old cartoons. Also playing games outside - much more so than today - marbles, board games, football, downball, cricket. Youth were outside most of the time. Today, entertainment is mainly indoors and electronic: videogames, movies, texting, Internet and so forth.
