How do people take hallucinogens?

It depends on the hallucinogen. LSD is usually taken orally and i think it either is absorbed in the stomach or through the veins in the mouth. Mushrooms are eaten. Other hallucinogens such as salvia divinorum or DMT can be smoked.

Im doing aresearch paper on Hallucinogens so im learning but this is what i know. Hallucinogens are psychedelic drugs that can be taken most prevalently orally But you can shoot up the drugs. LSD, Shrooms are the most popular hallucinogens. There are many names for LSD but the most widely used nickname would be acid. 1 gram of LSD could get 3000 people high. Very potent chemicals that resemble the chemicals found in the human brain. LSD comes part from a plant but needs to be made under laboratory conditions. The drug was first made to cure headaches. LsD actually comes from a fungis on a plant synthesized into this substance that's extremely potent and beautiful. "acid and shrooms" may be the most popular and well known But that's amoungst the non-psychedelic community. If you meet real psychonauts you are bound to hear the most infamous name of all pop up, DMT DiMethylTryptamine. Take some time to research into that...

As far as your questions go, oral is probably most common for psychedelics tho basicly any means of ingestion will work in some way. Rectal is known for its stregnth and speed and is only recommended to big time users who know what they are doing. Nasaly results in burn 90% of the time and smoking seems to work with the few chemicals that don't deplete and destroy at high temperatures.

Look in to psychedelics, names like.. 2c-b, 2c-i, dmt, amt, 5-meo-dmt, bufotenine or ayahuasca and you will learn about tons more..

It depends on what hallucinogen they are taking, but here is a basic guide to how most popular hallucinogens are taken;

LSD

* it can be taken in a liquid drop on your tongue * that liquid drop can also be dissolved in a drink but it's not all that much recommended because it's a very fragile molecule that can be broken down by many chemicals that tapwater is subject to be treated with. * it can be taken on a blotter paper that you keep on your tongue for five minutes * it can also be taken in the form of a pill (microdot) that you swallow

MAGIC MUSHROOMS

they can be taken fresh or dry, in any on the following ways

* they can be eaten just as they are, you need to chew them really well to get the best effect and then swallow them. some people find that they taste really awful though.

* they can be put in a cup, and then you pour boiling water over them to make a tea. you can also use other herbs at the same time, they will mask the taste of the mushroom. * you can put them on top of a Pizza, spaghetti, etc... * you can make chocolate and put the mushroom as part of the ingredients * you can bake them in brownies or cookies, but there are claims that it makes the mushroom not as potent.

MESCALINE

mescaline comes from many different kinds of cacti. you will usually need to prepare before you can consume it. first, you will need to peel off the skin. then,

* eat it raw (with lemon and salt if you wish...) or in a salad...

* cut them in really small pieces and make a tea with it

PCP

* you can smoke it (mostly in the case of marijuana or cigarettes sprayed with liquid PCP)

* you can snort or swallow it (powdered ot tablet PCP)

* you can inject liquid PCP in the bloodstream (very dangerous and uncommon)

DMT

* you can smoke it in a pipe, also known as vaporising, because you don't want to burn the (powdered or crystal) DMT, you only want to make it simmer and breathe the vapours. you need a specially designed pipe for this, usually homemade. * you can take it orally, usually in it's herbal form, accompanied with a MAOI. one of those mixes is called ayahuasca.

DATURA

you can eat the plant raw, but making a tea is better in all aspects. the dosage is 1 to 1.5 flower per person. never exceed this dose!!!

There are several ways to consume hallucinogens. Some simply swallow tablets, capsules or pills. Some "snort" or "snuff" the drug. They crush the drug into a powder and use a straw, rolled dollar bill or some form of tubing to sniff the drug up their nose. Then you have those that smoke the drug in various forms. Some sprinkle the crushed drug of choice onto their hemp and roll it into a cigarette shape and smoke it. Others put the crushed drug onto foil and heat it with a lighter and inhale the smoke through a straw or some form of tubing into their lungs, like cigarette smoke. Then there are those that use a glass pipe. They put the drug in the bottom of the pipe and heat it and inhale the smoke through the top of the pipe. Then last, you have those that use a needle. These people crush the drug, mix it with water in a spoon or other heatable container. Then after they heat it with a lighter or candle to mix and melt the drug, they draw it into the needle and shoot the liquid into their vien. These are some of the ways I have heard, seen or done myself at one point in my life. I am 48 yrs. old and have seen much.
