1) Drink water. The body is mostly water, and water is integral to the healing and maintenance of homeostasis. Take care, though: more than 80 ounces a day or so can, under certain conditions, cause an electrolytic imbalance.

Spring water is best (municipal water often contains unknown levels of synthetic hormones and remnants of many prescription medications, due to the lack of thorough filtering for such agents in the vast majority of municipal water systems).

2) Eat well. Many people will reference diets high in fiber, fruits and vegetables, with adequate protein and healthy fat, while reducing or eliminating "bad" fats, sugars, and simple carbs. This is elementary. It also makes a difference the QUALITY of your food. Is it genetically modified (GMO)? Are your meat and dairy products full of unnatural hormones? How about pesticides used for your fruits and vegetables? These things can all impact the function of the body at a cellular level, and there is not enough research on their impact to deem them completely uneffectual, yet.

Also, be sure not to eat too many calories. You can find charts to tell you how many calories you need for your height, weight, activity level and gender. Excess calories can fuel problems in the human body, such as cancerous cellular activity. It can also lead to excess deposits of fat, which directly effects insulin and hormone levels (which can then impact sleep quality, energy, digestion, physical appearance, and many other bodily functions).

3) Exercise regularly. The body needs exercise to facilitate the removal of toxins, as well as to maintain the health of the heart and muscular function. Loss of muscle can cause, among other things, hormone imbalances and promote injury.

4) Get enough sleep. The most optimum healing and restorative work the body engages in occurs during sleep. Eight hours of sleep is prime. Try to get most of your sleep at the same time. Two hours of sleep four times a day is not nearly as good for you as eight hours at night, for a number of reasons.
