The first step is to ask each why they think what they do. Specifically ask them to discuss the relative merits of the other recommendations. Don't be afraid to spcifically ask what evidence supports the opinion. You may get a feel at that point that one has made a more persuasive argument than the others.

Another approach is to seek additional opinions. Also, after you have spoken with them, you may want to do some reading on your own.
