I'm not sure what you mean by commentary, but for thesis and introduction, yes they go in one paragraph
The thesis usually appears in the introduction section of an essay, typically at the end of the introduction paragraph. It presents the main argument or central idea that the essay will explore and support with evidence in the following paragraphs.
In the introductory paragraph
The best place for a thesis statement is at the end of the introduction, if any. It should be in the first paragraph. It's important to precise that that first paragraph has to be the introduction; in that way, nobody should be confusing because we also have the first paragraph of the body.
After you create an outline and develop a thesis, which probably means one has already finished the introduction, a person should create the first main idea or body paragraph.
In an introduction paragraph, you first need an attention-grabbing beginning. This can be a quote, a unique fact, or a short story to get the readers to continue reading. This could be one sentence or it could be a few, just make sure it's no more than four or five otherwise your paragraph will be too long. Then you will transition into your thesis, which is typically only one sentence but could be two. Your thesis briefly describes each of the main points you're going to write about in the rest of the paper, and it should be the last part of your introduction paragraph.
You end you introduction paragraph with you thesis statement. A thesis statement/sentence, is the part (last sentence of your introduction paragraph) where you state your main topics of you paper.

-IntroductionYour introduction like the five-paragraph-essay, should open generally (with a quotation, anecdote, generalization), and lead into the thesis statement.Thats it wishing for you an organized and nice essay :)
A good paragraph should have one main thesis sentence. All sentences should pertain to that one thought. All sentences should be complete. The paragraph should convey one main point.
The standard five paragraph essay consists of three parts: the introduction, the body and the conclusion. The introduction sets the foundation of the paper and is concluded with the thesis statement, which is what the rest of the paper will address. The body consists of three paragraphs, each started with a topic sentence that directly supports the thesis statement. After each topic sentence within each body paragraph is 3-5 sentences providing specific support for the topic sentence of the paragraph. The conclusion wraps everything back together and connects back to the introduction. The key components are clarity of the thesis and topic sentences, direct support for each statement made and a good flow from one sentence to the next.
