No, silent treatment is a childish fit that personality disordered people sometimes do to feel better about themselves. It may be safe to say that maybe they have found a new person to spend their time with. Or it's to teach you a lesson of some kind that is only known by the person with BPD, (as they have illusions that we cannot fathom at times). It's a strange disorder, but there is plenty of information on the web to give you some answers :) If you are dealing with someone giving you the silent treatment for that long, it doesn't sound like they're worth your time.
