Is there a medicine to cure a bacteria or a virus?
Antibiotics will kill bacteria, or render them incapable of
reproducing; a wide variety is available and can be tailored to
most types of bacteria. There are treatments for some viral
infections (acyclovir, gancyclovir and AZT are some better-known
examples), but they are less effective than antibacterial drugs and
are not used for minor illnesses such as the common cold.
