Yes. Environmental Health Officers, EHOs for shorts have a dress code at least in Nigeria, my Country. Ever since the colonial and immediate post colonial era the Sanitary Inspectors as they were called then were identifiable with their white long-sleeved white shirts tucked into knee-high pair of brown trousers, with a metal head gear. They also hold a swagger stick which completes the official regalia.
Since then, the Uniform has undergone changes. For a very long time between 1970s & 90s white shirts tucked into brown trousers with yellow neck tie held sway. The Profession felt it was time some improvements were made hence a new outfit was introduced in mid 2000s.
The new Uniform is a complete regalia designed after that of military and paramilitary services. It consists of white Khaki jacket over a brown khaki trouseres with a pair of brown boots. Epulets carrying the ranks dorn both the shoulders as a well as a hanging laneyard on the left shoulder alone. A name tag is hung on the right breast pocket. A brown berret with a badge sewn is put on the head.
