The difference between growth and developemnt is delicate indeed. Whereas growth is quantified in percentage in a particular sector, development entails prosperity of the citizenries of a country as a whole. This involves rise in buying power of the customers, thereby upgrading their standard of living, which will ultimately be reflected in the percentage of economic growth of the country.

Economic growth is the growth of people which causes economic development, the growth/development of cities/towns. (i.e. businesses and buildings)
Growth is physical. Development can also by physical. However, typically when someone is talking about development, they are talking about learning milestones, or mental development.
An example of development through growth and differentiation is the transformation of a single fertilized egg into a complex multicellular organism with specialized tissues and organs. As the organism grows, cells differentiate into different cell types with unique functions, contributing to the overall development and organization of the organism. This process involves cell division, differentiation, and specialization to form a functional organism.
Growing is increasing and getting bigger. Development is improving.

Growth refers to an increase in size or quantity, such as physical growth or revenue growth in a business. Development, on the other hand, involves a qualitative improvement or progress, such as skill development or economic development in a region. Growth is often measurable in terms of numbers, while development involves a broader and more holistic advancement.
Plant cells have the ability to differentiate throughout their life, allowing for growth and development. Animal cells typically lose the ability to differentiate once they mature, but certain cells, such as stem cells, retain this ability for repair and regeneration.
