There have been many conflicting statements made about zinc whether it actually helps colds or not. Personally, I take Zinc everday. I have 3 kids so I am always confronted with a new cold or virus but I have definitely noticed that I have less colds since starting taking the zinc on a daily basis. Zinc helps the bodies resistance to infections it also helps make certain hormones in the body that tells the immune system to kick in when a virus begins to attack the body which, can in turn prevent and shorten a cold. My advice would be try it for yourself and see how beneficial it is for you.

The main thing you need to do to care for your nose is keep the outside clean just as you do the rest of your face. During colds and other illnesses, it is important to keep the nose blown clear of mucus.
