However Amoxycillin an antibacterial can be combined with Loperamide when the diarrhea is not infectious. Loperamide should be avoided in diarrhea due to infections of GIT (infectious diarrhea) where there is risk of toxins from bacterial in colon leading to infectious colitis and thereafter toxic megacolon.

Loperamide (Imodium brand name) is used to help with diarrhea. Everyone is different and has different reactions to the synergistic effects of mixing drugs. Ask the Doctor Who prescribed the medication if it is OK for you to take both medications.
