I believe that you can love someone, no matter how they look at themselves. If you are going into a relationship like that, though, you should be prepared to counter all of the persons self-criticism. Stay firm when you tell them why you love them, and make sure that they understand that they really are a good person (I'm assuming they are a good person if you love them). Who knows, you may just be able to give them a touch of self-esteem and help them love themselves in the end.
