∙ 14y agoNo. Cocaine comes from the coca plant. The drug that comes from opium is morphine (along with other opioid alkaloids), which is used to make heroin. The two drugs are completely different.

The term "freebasing" is a misnomer as it refers to the composition of the drug. It does not mean "to smoke" the drug per se, but you cannot smoke morphine in its non-freebase form.
