Depends on the definition of brain damage. There isn't enough information or studies made in the past years to draw conclusion on Xanax's or Valium's causing brain any tissue damage, but there are some long term side effects that can be seen. If used for too long, both can cause the exact opposite of what they are designed for. Especially Xanax is known for causing intense shaking, high blood pressure and intense anxiety in long term use, which might eventually even lead to one's death.
When used for such a long time, it is recommended you get off the medicine the exact moment. The abuse of Xanax and Valium is incredibly dangerous and can be fatal.
Nobody has lived that long; so I don't know. Valium, by itself, is not friendly to brains.
The abuse of aspirin can cause gastrointestinal problems, bleeding, and brain damage.
Valium is not the innocent "mothers little helper" of the 1950's, Valium is a serious narcotic that can be addicting. Valium is the brand name for diazepam which is a benzodiazepine in the opioids category. This simply means that Valium is a powerful depressant that slows down brain activity and triggers the reward system. Valium is prescribed for anxiety and insomnia but is very easy to abuse. Many people who are sensitive to addiction find themselves taking more than the prescribed amount of valium. This can lead to physical dependence and Valium addiction.
it could leave to mental problems as well as physical challenges you may also retain brain damage depending on the drug you abuse
Yes. Valium (diazepam) does indeed cross the blood brain barrier. It is one of the more lipophilic of the benzodiazepine medications.
The following may all potentially cause brain damage:Hypoxia (oxygen deficiency)A (physical) head injuryStrokeAneurysmViral or bacterial infectionBrain tumourAlcohol abuseOther drug abuse
I think it is possible either from aging, or damage to the brain from traumatic injury or drug/alcohol abuse.
My family member has been using and abususing xanax and valium for over 20 years can he have brain damage
The difference is that one can have a brain injury and not have brain damage. Essentially, brain damage is caused by injury or trauma to the brain. However, not every injury to the brain will cause brain damage.

Solvent abuse destroys nerve cells which in turn causes brain damage. After brain damage the muscles begin to have false and missing signals which cause atrophy. Atrophy of the muscles cause organ damage which changes life expectancy.
There are many things which could cause problems with language use. Damage to the speech centers of the brain is one example. If the brain is injured, you could become unable to speak, or could be unable to match names to common objects. Drug abuse can also cause both brain damage and problems speaking.
after time of being sober, from everything the brain will slowly heal. but all drugs including things as little as nicotine, and caffeine will affect the brain and put holes in it. i had to do a project on this for SADD club.
