Yes, as low iron levels or anemia can cause fatigue. This is especially true with women who have monthly release of blood. You could have a blood test done to determine if anemia is causing this problem. A simple check is to gently pull out the lower lid of the eye and see if the inner membrane is pale or pink.

Too much iron is also not a good thing. The best supplement in my opinion would be found in a health food store as I have had to take iron for short period of times. Certain types of iron are assimilated and others are not. (My son did an experiment with a cereal fortified with iron and he pulled out the iron from the crushed cereal with a magnet!!!)

Iron supplements are known to cause constipation. Cascara sagrada is a natural herb that is non-additive bowel toner that helps the peralstalstic action of the bowels and strengthens the intestines that might be good while taking iron supplement.
