LSD acts on serotonin, a neurotransmitter. Exactly how it works is unknown. I am not aware of a case of induced "crazyness", but it can make some existing psychological conditions worse, if not permanently, at least temporarily. And as it acts at a very fundamental level within the brain, it's not likely we'll know what damage it does or does not do. At this time, we assume that LSD does not leave lasting physiological damage, but that's today's opinion -- in the 1960's it was thought LSD did chromosomal damage. So -- if you're feeling down, this med can make things hugely worse. Also, exposure to unexpected situations when under the influence of LSD can lead to a panic reaction, which is never a good thing. There's no way to tell how you'll feel if you take it, which explains why it's not that popular a street drug.

Quick answer: Yes.

Not so quick answer: The term hallucinogen, is commonly used to describe psychedelics because of their tendency to cause visual disturbances(breathing walls, flowing colours, etc...), however, it really should not be used for them, as they very rarely cause true hallucinations, such as seeing your dead grandmother. Stories of mushrooms causing such things are usually false, or at the very least, exagerated. It is very rare to see something on mushrooms, and not know that your seeing something that isn't there. True hallucinations are not distiguishable by the person experiencing them from reality, very few drugs actually cause this, and most that can, only do at very high doses. Examples of drugs that can cause hallucinations would be datura and deadly nightshade, both extremly dangerous drugs that usually end up with the user in a padded room in a hospital for a few days.

Cannabis, in itself, is not dangerous to your mental health.

It should be noted that scientists have found that those with a genetic predisposition towards schizophrenia may have their symptoms exhaserbated by consuming marijuana. However, admittably, more studies need to be done to confirm this.

One study came out to say that teenagers who have used marijuana frequently were more likely to "develop schizophrenia" when they're in their early 20's. The problem with this finding is that it does not take into consideration the fact that 3/4 of schizophrenics develop their symptoms and tend to be diagnosed with the illness before the age of 24 anyways.

Furthermore, concrete research has found that schizophrenics have a stronger tendency to smoke and take drugs than the average individual. So, smoking marijuana may not actually cause schizophrenia, but may rather be a popular habit of schizophrenics.

Regardless, if you are mentally healthy, then you should have nothing to fear. The best answer would be to use precaution before consuming ANY substance, don't make weed smoking a serious habit, and don't use it if you know or think you may have pre-existing mental problems.

I use mushrooms quite a bit, and when people say they do alot they usually mean 3,4,5 grams a entire night, I have eaten 14 grams in 2 hours. I have not met another person that has eaten that much in 2 hours, I have done mushrooms at least 40 times in a year and a half, when you do to much on a regular basis it can make you feel a little depressed and sometimes temporarily crazy. This one time I did so much i thought my left arm went numb and my heart started hurting, for a month and half i thought i was gonna have a heart attack or a seizure, I finally went for a checkup I was fine, it was just because I was at a high emotional stage when I was high. Honestly I do still enjoy doing them, I have had several bad trips, best way to get out of it is to just yell it out! tell everyone around you that you are having a bad trip and then just try and laugh about it because sitting there and not talking about it and going further and further into you're head will make it worse!

So sorry for the long response but basically no It will not make you go crazy and you can look up a CNN news report on YouTube about the long lasting positive effects of magic mushrooms, just be safe and dont climb trees
