Yes, technically a person can survive on liquids because (technically) you can put anything into a blender and make it "liquid"...
that being said you can survive on liquids as long as you are receiving all of your daily required nutrients. including carbs, protein, vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, everything it takes for your body to run.
and liquid diets are efficient because its a much easier way for some people to measure the amount of nutrients they are intaking; in order not to take in too much. as long as you are getting at least all of the minimum required nutrients or it could be bad for your health.
