Knight is a gender-bound noun. Therefore women who were raised to the nobility were styled Dames ( ladies) or Ladies- which means the same thing. Elizabeth Taylor, who has never worn any Female-Knight costumes was Damed as a Dame of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II ( two Elizabeths in action!) the title of secretary of defence-I am using the British spelling would rank higher- so as we have Captain Sir Thomas Lipton on the tea boxes- it would be Secretary of Defence, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, and eight campaign ribbons on the sleeves!- pun intended- in comparison wer have Admiral Gabor ( six stripes).

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?
