How are earrings bad for children?
Earrings can be bad for children for many reasons. For one, some
people are allergic to the metal used for earrings. Depending on
the severity of the allergy, minor irritation or even death can
occur as a result of earrings. Another reason is that children may
not be able to correctly care for their ears once their ears are
pierced. Neglect to properly clean the ears after a piercing can
lead to infection, pain, and the closing of the earring holes. What
can also cause pain and closing of the earring holes is a lack of
wearing them. If your child does not like to wear the earrings very
much, then the holes will close and the next time your child puts
in an earring it will be painful and difficult.
Yet another reason is that your child may not want earrings,
especially if you decide to pierce your baby's ears. When your
child starts to make their own fashion choices, they may hate their
earrings and be embarrassed by them. If you want your child to get
their ears pierced, please consider the above.
