Engineering invents practical devices and systems using the knowledge learned by science

Technology is the accumulated collection of the productsof engineering that can be used to solve problems and perform useful tasks. A technology is not just the tools, but also the knowledge of how to make them as well as the infrastructure needed to support both their production and usage.

Stone tools, houses, boats, computers, plastics, nuclear power plants, and clothes are examples of technology; in order to make any of them, it is necessary to know a lot of fundamental science.

Science sets the stage for engineering which sets the stage for technology, which provides our useful tools without which modern humans could not live. There would be no laptops or any other tool we use without the fundamental discoveries of science.
