If you read the next books in the series you will discover that there is lots of trouble on the horizon. There is the battle of the labyrinth (maybe i cant remember if it was this book the letter was sent in ;)) also their is the Titan war. Poseidon cannot directly interfere with his sons affairs so he has to do it in subtle ways. This letter is telling Percy something bad is coming without telling him the problem or the solution. It is indirect so Poseidon is allowed to do it.

Hope it helped :)

In Greek mythology, Poseidon is the god of the sea and earthquakes. By instructing Percy Jackson to "brace yourself" in his letter, Poseidon is likely warning Percy of imminent danger or a challenging situation ahead. This phrase conveys a sense of preparation and readiness for potential adversity, reflecting Poseidon's protective and authoritative nature as a deity.

Well, let's take a moment to appreciate Poseidon's message to Percy. When Poseidon says "brace yourself," he might be hinting at some big news or a challenging journey ahead. Remember, with each challenge comes an opportunity for growth and strength. Embrace the unknown with a positive mindset, like a painter facing a blank canvas ready to create something beautiful.

Oh, dude, Poseidon probably just wanted to give Percy a heads up that some crazy stuff was about to go down. I mean, when a god tells you to brace yourself, you know it's not gonna be a walk in the park. Like, maybe there's a giant sea monster lurking around or something equally dramatic. Just another day in the life of a demigod, am I right?
