Rebbie was 18 at the time, and her husband, Nathaniel Brown, was their neighbor, and she loved him and wanted to join him in Kentucky. Joseph's lifelong dream was to move to California, and it didn't happen yet. The Jackson 5 had a concert to perform on her wedding day and he thought that was more important. Joseph refused to give his daughter away and just sat in the audience.
