After Elizabeth starts climbing to her ship, Bootstrap calls the crew down on Norrington. Elizabeth tries to go back and help, but instead he shoots down the tow rope. After turning his attention back to the crew, he is fatally impaled by Bootstrap Bill. Sad but unfortunately, true. Elizabeth's life sucks :(
