Kenpachi Kiganjō was the 10th Kenpachi (Kenpachi Zaraki became the 11th) though I am not certain the exact date when this transfer of power happened.
Prior to becoming the 10th Kenpachi and head of the 11th Division, Kiganjo was known as "Gosuke Kiganjō". He killed the 9th Kenpachi and 11th Division head 110 years prior to the start of the story, so Zaraki's ascension to power happened sometime after that point.

∙ 13y agoUnknown. Kenpachi killed the previous captain in order to become the squad 11 captain. However many bleach fans believe that Ichigo's father Isshin Kurosaki is the former squad 11 captain and that his death was really just a rouse to get him out of the Soul Society. The former squad 10 captain is also unknown.
