There was quite a lag between Roy Disney's death before Michael Eiasner took over. Walt died in 1966. Roy died in 1971. Walt's son in law Ronald W. Miller ran the company in between. Ron married Walt's daughter Diane.

There is confusion between Roy O. Dinsey (Walt's brother) and Roy E. Disney (Walt's nephew). Roy E. Disney is the one who brought in Michael Eisner in 1984.

Ron Miller remains an unknown name to most people, and there's contreversy about his legacy since the company was in need of help at the end of his reign, but he's the one who actually was running things as the company completed Walt's vision of Epcot at Walt Disney World.
