I do not think many people would agree with the opinion above. There is no similarity at all between the works of Duchamp and Picasso.

Duchamp, whilst being one of the main faces of the Dada art movement, was inspired by a few artists when he started off. In his earlier works on canvas, he was inspired by the work of cezanne, matisse and movements such as cubism, symbolism, abstractionism and some post-impressionism.

Duchamp exhibited 'ready-mades', that is things he had bought, and called them art. Examples: a bottle drying rack, a shovel, a bicycle wheel on a stool, ... Warhol realized that a common thing can be the subject of artwork.
