In book six, Hermione gets incredible mad and sad, when Ron gets a relationship with another girl.
In the last book, seven. He leaves Harry and Hermione, and Hermione cry's for days.
Later in the book, they kiss, so that when he really shows it, but I think he's always liked her.

Firstly - it's GINNY. He doesnt fall for Hermione as he considers her a sister, and he knows Hermione has feelings for Ron, who is harry's best friend, and he also knows Ron has feelings for Hermione, so he would be a pretty bad friend all round if he fell for Hermione.
