This site claims his lowest not on Idol was an E2 (middle C is C4) and his highest was a C#5 (one half-step above the the high male C5). It also tells you in which songs these notes were sung. In my opinion, Chris is an awesome singer, but these two extremes of his range do not come out very well. The E2 is very breathy and the C#5 is an all out shout/scream. So again in my opinion, his everyday usable range is probably more like an F#2 to probably a B just below C5. This dude is awesome!
