The problem in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is that Lord Voldemort is trying to steal the stone so that he can return to his body and restart the war.
Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger discover this and attempt to stop him from stealing the stone by getting to it first. They are too late and Harry is forced to face Voldemort and Quirinus Quirrell by himself.
The stone has been well hidden and Quirrel cannot access it because only somebody who wanted to find it and not use it, could do so. Harry falls into this category and finds himself with the stone. As Voldemort is attached to Quirrell's soul, he discovers that whenever he touched Harry, his skin would burn and blister causing him extreme amounts of pain. This happened because Harry is protected by his mother's love after she died for him. Eventually, Quirrel dies while attempting to retrive the stone, Voldemort flees to find another host for his soul and Harry passes out due to the physical strain on his body.
When he wakes up, Albus Dumbledore tells him that the Flamel's, who own the stone, have decided to destroy it to prevent it causing any more problems.
Harry destroyed Voldemort. Harry confronts Professor Quirrell beneath the trapdoor and retrieves the Stone from the Mirror of Erised. The Sorcerer's Stone is destroyed by Dumbledore, preventing Lord Voldemort from gaining immortality.
The main conflict is that Harry Potter has been selected to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, despite being underage and not entering himself. Harry had to face several difficult tasks throughout the competition, and then found himself fighting for his life against Lord Voldemort. Harry managed to escape as the wand cores of both his and Voldemort's wands were the same and connected.
Other minor conflicts in include Harry and Ron's fight, which resolved when Ron realised Harry didn't enter the Triwizard Tournament, Hermione's battle with Rita Skeeter, resolved when Hermione discovers Rita's secret, and Hermione and Ron's inability to admit they have feelings for one another - something they decide not to discuss rather than resolve.
The conflict is Voldemort trying to kill Harry, Muggles, and Muggle-borns, while Harry and others try to defeat Voldemort. It's resolved near the end of the final book (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), when all of the Horcruxes have been destroyed. Voldemort tries to kill Harry (Avada Kedavra), while Harry disarms Voldemort (Expelliarmus), making the Killing Curse cast by Voldemort rebound, and Voldemort dies.
It's a series, so the conflict of the whole series is solved in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows.
However, if you just want the solution of the Goblet of Fire: They find out who Mad-Eye Moody really is (Barty Crouch Jr.) and as for Voldemort returning, well, that little conflict remains throughout the whole series. ;)
7 books!!! :)
Nothing. The sixth book doesn't have a closure like the previous ones; the ending doesn't 'solve' anything, Dumbledore is dead, the hcx is fake, Harry and co have to save the world...
Harry survives, Proffesor Quirrel dies, Voldemort flees, again and the Philosophers Stone is destroyed.
During the Battle in the Ministry, Sirius Black is killed, and the Ministry sees Voldermort for the first time, and is finally convinced. Dumbledore is back to being the headmaster.
