What instruments are used in Star Trek voyager theme song?

A man by the name of Alexander Courage wrote the theme song for the show, and the music itself was created with a synthesizer. There is also a sound in the theme reminiscent of a theremin, but it is actually being sung by a woman by the name of Loulie Jean Norman.
